Antarctic Science (ASI) Bursary Research Funding, Grants & Scholarships id: 287

We support the development of the careers of promising young scientists, working in any field of Antarctic science, and from any country. Grants of up to £6000 are awarded to extend the scope of an existing research project, through: • Funding extra field or laboratory work • Purchasing/contributing towards the cost of a key piece of equipment, or • Funding international collaboration or the learning of new skills Please note that this award is NOT offered to support work on an existing research project. It is intended to support a distinct extension activity, usually arising from previous work. We like to fund novel opportunities or research avenues which are complementary to your existing research.

BID: Biodiversity Information for Development Research Funding, Grants & Scholarships id: 28

Biodiversity Information for Development (BID) is a multi-year programme funded by the European Union and led by GBIF with the aim of enhancing capacity for effective mobilization and use of biodiversity data in research and policy in the ‘ACP’ nations of sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific. Funding from the programme's first phase has supported capacity enhancement activities and projects to mobilize biodiversity data and strengthened national and regional biodiversity information facilities in these regions. Its impacts to date have focused on data that support the regions' policy needs, particularly in connection with protected areas, threatened species and invasive alien species.

Commonwealth Marine Economies (CME) Programme Training & Higher Education Research Funding, Grants & Scholarships Training Opportunities id: 345

This UK government programme aims to support the marine economies (also refered to as blue economies) of 17 Commonwealth Small Island Developing States (SIDS). It aims to support them in identifying the potential of, and developing, their marine economies in a sustainable, resilient, and integrated way. The programme supports CME SIDS by building the capacity of the islands to manage their marine resources and develop their national maritime economies. It is also helping to address climate change, including the UN Sustainable Development Goal 14 (to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development) and the Paris Climate Change Accord.
